Nicole Barrs
Paralegal - Wills, Trusts and Probate
Nicole is a driven and determined individual with a clear passion for law and her journey into the legal profession is a testament to her dedication and resilience.
Nicole spent a decade working for a national high street bank while pursuing her long-held ambition of becoming a lawyer and, through part-time study with the Open University, she successfully completed her Law Degree.
Nicole’s academic journey continued when completing a postgraduate Master’s in Law and the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at Sunderland University, whilst working at a North East law firm. She is now actively working towards securing a Training Contract and her strong work ethic and unwavering commitment means she is a great asset for us and our clients.
Away from work
A dedicated mum of two young children, Nicole spends a lot of time taking both to various clubs and activities. But when she does get time to herself, she loves to relax by watching TV or reading a good book.
What are your main interests or hobbies?
Studying and family life does take up the majority of my time, but I do love walking our two dogs – Bruce, a Chihuahua, and Bella, a Patterdale Terrier. We particularly enjoy going for long walks along Seaburn beach.
What music do you like – any specific genre or artists?
I enjoy listening to pretty much anything and usually have Capital on the radio when I’m in the car. But I do like most stuff by Oasis, Elvis or Fleetwood Mac.
What’s your favourite food?
I absolutely adore Italian food and my favourite would probably be Carbonara with a white wine spritzer. But I am partial to a Chicken Korma and a Cobra too!
Do you have a favourite book and why?
I like to relax with a book and crime mysteries are my favourite genre, but I also enjoy reading autobiographies about people overcome their struggles before going on to achieve success.
Is there a smartphone App you could not live without?
Pinterest and YouTube – I love them both for the inspiration they give me for DIY projects around our home.
How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
Approachable, efficient, friendly, hard-working, determined.
If you could go back in time, what advice would you give your younger self?
Enjoy every moment. You’ll get to where you want to be in the end.
