A vastly-experienced Commercial Litigation Solicitor, Chris has the knowledge and expertise to resolve business disputes quickly and cost effectively, via mediation or through the courts.
Having qualified as a Solicitor Advocate, Chris boasts the same rights of audience in court as barrister. This means he can vigorously pursue your objectives and provide legal representation in a wide range of courts including the High Court, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. He is also an accredited Mediator and can represent clients if they need to engage in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Chris qualified as a solicitor in 2016, after studying history at the University of Hull before completing a graduate diploma in law and his LPC at the University of Law in York. Known for his personable and likeable manner, he can help with any commercial dispute and property-related issues.
Away from work
Originally from the small rural village of Kirkbride, Chris returned to Cumbria in 2020 where he now lives with his wife Rachel and their young son, Reuben. To relax and unwind, he enjoys gardening and playing mix of modern pop and classical pieces on the piano.
What music do you like – any specific genre or artists?
The artists that I tend to go for are older stuff like Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones, AC/DC and Status Quo. But I do like a lot of music and have definitely started listening to more pop music in recent years.
What’s your favourite food?
I am a bit of a ‘foodie’ and love anything Italian or Indian food. In recent years, I’ve also been trying to get into Sushi.
What film or boxset would you recommend to others?
When I get time to sit down and watch the TV, I like watching true crime documentaries or dramas.
Do you have a favourite book and why?
I do like to read anything by Don Winslow, an American author, and I would definitely recommend The Cartel Trilogy, a series of books that he has written about an ongoing drugs war in Mexico.
