Head of Department: Probate, Wills & Trusts

Dermot qualified as a solicitor in 1984 and has spent his entire career dealing with Wills, trusts and probate matters. Dermot became a partner in the firm in 1986, and set up the Wills, Trust and Probate Department four years later.

Dermot became a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) in 1995. STEP is now an international organisation and its members are recognised worldwide as specialists with a high level of expertise in Wills, trust and estate matters.

Dermot was an early member of Solicitors for the Elderly, an association of solicitors with special interests in those areas of law relating to elderly clients.

Dermot is also a member of the Private Client Section of the Law Society.  

During his career Dermot has dealt with the establishment and running of many high value family trusts. He has also acted as professional trustee in several personal injury trusts. He is experienced in drafting Wills, both simple and complex, the administration of estates and elderly client requirements in respect of Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters.
