After leaving school, Alixandra studied Adult Nursing at the University of East Anglia and spent three years working as a student nurse in a variety of NHS hospitals and wards. Following this she studied Law at Northumbria University followed by the Legal Practice Course, alongside raising her young daughter.
After completing her studies, Alixandra practiced predominantly in the areas of Employment Law and Personal Injury, with a particular interest in Claims arising in a healthcare setting. On qualification as a solicitor in 2013, Alixandra went on to work for a large Multi-National firm defending occupiers and employers liability claims occurring in hospitals and other healthcare settings.
Alixandra joined Longden Walker & Renney in 2015 as a Solicitor in the Clinical Negligence Team having long had an interest in progressing her career in this area. She has now specialised solely in Clinical Negligence litigation .
She has negotiated many successful settlements for her Clients in a wide area of Clinical Negligence matters. She has attended the Coroner’s Court representing clients and is able to advise on a broad range of Clinical negligence issues. She has a particular interest in assisting Clients who have undergone negligent breast reconstruction surgery and also orthopaedic Claims.
Having worked in Nursing and also as a Defendant Solicitor, Alixandra feels she is able to look at Client’s issues from all angles and give more rounded advice because of her mixed experience.
In her spare time Alixandra enjoys spending time with her family both in her native Northumberland and travelling the world as often as possible. She also enjoys running and cooking.
